Cassia is the older and taller. She is taller than me (not so hard to be) and is now 12 years old. Time runs fast. I still can remember perfectly the day she was born and when I first held her. She was so little. I thought I could never love someone this much. Until Alice was born. When my sister-in-law got pregnant, my brother invited me and my boyfriend to be her godparents. And I had this stupid fear of not loving her as much as I already loved Cassia. But I don't need to say how silly this fear was, right? I love them both equally, like they were both my kids. My girls. And they know that. When Cassia was born, I was starting to learn about photography, and when Alice was born I had just bought my first camera. I have been documenting their lives since they can remember. Funny to see how my photography mature at the same time they are maturing.

Seeing someone grow up through your lens must be rewarding esp when you see the transition. You have such beautiful girls, Thais :)
ReplyDeleteyour girls are awesome with infectious smile. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely warm tones!
ReplyDeleteIt's always beautiful to hang out with such happy youth!
These photographs fill me heart with love! ♥
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful! Also, I think it's fun to have an auntie like you. I'm not so close with my aunties
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! I have to try Portra, great results <3
ReplyDeleteIt is, April, believe me. I changed their diapers not so long a go and now we are best buddies! We tell each other secrets. It is very special.
ReplyDeletearen't they? I love their smiles too. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the portra + sunset effect!
ReplyDeleteIt is! The happy youth makes you feel happy and young too. It's refreshing! :)

ReplyDeleteThank you, Katie!
Thank you, Meallyn!
ReplyDeleteHaha, thank you, Aia! I think they like me as an aunt, haha. I sure love to have them as nieces. We always have a great time together. Cassia and I watch a lot of series and old movies together and Alice and I watch a lot of cartoons. Right now we are on to Adventure Time. :)
ReplyDeleteYes! As I told you, I love the skin tone. Those we're taken in the late afternoon, almost sunset time. That's why they look warmer. But in general I just love the results. You won't regret trying! I'm looking forward to see Budapest on your Pro 400H! Sure it will be beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are beautifully captured, it is so lovely for them to have such a loving adult in their lives. I always had a really good relationship with my Mum's sister and it's just such a valuable thing to have in your life as a young person :)
ReplyDeletethe same happens here, i have two nieces and have been taken pictures since they were babies <3
ReplyDeletebeautiful smiles :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I love Portra so much, it creates such a lovely colour.
ReplyDeleteI took your advice and bought D700, receiving it tomorrow..so excited to test it out! Also bought 35mm f2. I wanted 35mm 1.8 or below but the price was too steep. Though I hear 35mm 2 is still very sharp so hopefully they will do for now.

It's the most fun you can have without being a mother, I guess. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that! I just hope I make them happy the same way they make me happy! I can;t imagine my life without these girls laughing around. :)
ReplyDeletePortra is my favorite film for (duh) portraits. The colors are so romantic! :)
ReplyDeleteYou will love D700. And I have a friend who uses this lens and she loves. I never use it. I love mine, it is the sharpest lens ever, but you are right, it is very pricey. I almost had to sell a kidney to buy it, haha.
