rainy days

It's been raining for days around here. I try to take my camera for a walk, but along with the rain there's too much work and I can't seem to find time for anything other than just sit here and work on my photos (the digital/work ones) and diagram my albums all day - when I look outside it's already dark and the day pass by me (it's getting dark around 5pm). I miss so much the days when I started on this. Thinking it would be so fun, photographing everything all the time. Feeling I could change everything with the way I see the world. I think the least I have done lately is to photograph (that's one of the main reasons I'm so back in love with film photography). I still have that feeling sometimes, but it's inevitable when days are so grey and work is so heavy I feel like that (I'm also pms-ing, so I'm already apologizing for being so bitchy these days).

Since it was kind of a depressing post, I'll leave you with flower photos (camellia, straight from my garden) and a very failed attempt to do a double exposure.

Bolinho caipira

Every year, in this part of the world, there's a popular party called "festa junina" (june party, although it happens throughout may, june and july, haha). Among other typical food, there's the most special one, exclusive from my town (you can't eat it in any other place in the world) and it's called "bolinho caipira". Since it's autumn here, and the cold days are coming, the fun part is that you have to eat really hot (people used to eat it to stay warm, a loooong time ago). I burned my mouth many times over the years, but I don't mind. It's so yummy.

Ghost Rider

My boyfriend loves Rush. I didn't, until I start to read this book. I mean, I always liked them. They seem pretty good people, they are very empathetic, but their music didn't cheer me on. Now I'm so addicted that I can't go through a day without listen to at least one of their songs. Free will and Faithless are my favorites at the moment.

Boris

One of the first posts will have to be about Boris. My great buddy, who sometimes go out for days, but it's always full of love when he comes back (aren't all the cats?). He was named after Boris Becker, the tennis player (don't they look a lot like each other? haha). He's almost 2 yo and still amazes me with his ability to be always looking everything like its the first time. Every morning he smells the garden, the walls, the doors and my feet like he just arrived here. So fun. My little ball of fur.

Let it be

I don't even know where to begin. Maybe introducing myself? But there's a whole section here with this information, so...
Let's do the basic! Hi! I'm Thais, I'm 32 y.o. and I'm a photographer. For a long time I've been using digital simply because it's more practical. But I started to feel a little less inspired each day. It's not like I wasn't loving photography anymore, because I was and still am. Photography saved my life in really tough times and I'll be forever grateful for that, and I'm incredibly happy to work with it. But one day I started to feel like I am the master of it all, you know?! I miss those early days of studying photography, going to the lab not knowing what it might come from those negatives, of making mistakes and then sleep on it, trying again and doing better the next time. I miss that time analog gives us. So, slowly, I started to fall in love with analog photography again. I know there's a lot of people out there sharing their pictures. I wanna show you my way to see the world, my way to keep me inspired. Maybe it will inspire you too.

It's a long journey, but I'm happy to have started. Hope you'll join me!
